First lady Peng Liyuan and US President Donald Trump’s wife Melania visited Banchang elementary school at Dongcheng district in Beijing on Thursday.
Founded in 1947, Banchang elementary school is an ordinary primary school with 29 classes and more than 1,000 students.
The visit was a reflection on President Xi Jinping’s emphasis on every child’s “fair access to good education” at his report delivered to the 19th National Congress of CPC, analysts said.
Trump and Melania are paying a three-day state visit to China from Wednesday to Friday.
