At the invitation of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Premier Li Keqiang arrived in Sochi on Thursday to attend the 16th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Minister) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The organization has developed into a vital platform to safeguard regional security and stability and promote shared prosperity, Li said upon arrival. He said he was looking forward to working with other countries to promote cooperation in fields such as security, economics and people-to-people exchanges.
The premier also said he was looking forward to meeting with Medvedev in Sochi to deepen China-Russia ties and cooperation under the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
During the meeting, Premier Li will sign a number of cooperative agreements and meet with leaders from other countries.
